I have received many questions in regards to my no1hungry fundraiser and whether I will be conducting another one any time soon. The answer is yes. I will be conducting another fundraiser this spring, again for the Shelter Rock Church Food Pantry. My goal for this time around is to not only focus on raising for the pantry to obtain more available food, I would like to also work on getting the pantry a larger supply of kid’s clothing. So many people have t-shirts clothes, or sweaters that no longer fit them, and people do not know what to do with them. If I could spread information to people about the many children in Nassau County who lack proper clothing I am sure that many people would love to donate clothes to the pantry.
Aside from gathering more clothes for this coming fundraiser, I would also like to gather more people to volunteer at the pantry. Recently, the pantry has been somewhat lacking staff members and just a few more people willing to volunteer would be amazing. I have seen that when more people show up to help, obviously more things will get done.
So in short, my goals for this next fundraiser are to of course raise money again to get more food into the pantry, collect clothes for those who need, and to gather more volunteers to work at the pantry.
