After a few difficulties in starting the no1hungry fundraiser for the Shelter Rock Church Food Pantry, I was finally able to get it going. With help from Ms. Darlene Benz and Ms. Gina Kim at the Shelter Rock Church Food Pantry, I was able to promote and spread a link to donating to the pantry. My goal was to raise at least 1,500 dollars for the pantry to help poor families during the holiday season, but with the help of so many wonderful donors, we were able to break that goal and even double it! With the help of 30 donors, we were able to raise just about 3,000 dollars, sent directly to the Shelter Rock Church Food Pantry Community Outreach Fund.
Now there may be some confusion in how this fundraiser really worked, so here is what happened:
- I sent out this link (https://shelterrockchurch.com/give/) to people very thoughtful people that I know.
- After the link was sent out, I gave people the step by step directions to those willing to donate.
- Next, after being guided to the correct place to donate, Ms. Darlene Benz was able to tally up our donors and count how much money was raised.
- After that, I was sent a list of all of the donors and the total amount of money raised during the fundraiser.
It was not easy, but I finally was able to get it done with the help of our amazing donors and helpers all across the board. Although I helped many people during this holiday season, I am not done yet. I am looking to repeat this fundraiser before as many holidays as I can to try to ensure that there will be less and less families in Nassau County without food on their plate.
