My name is Pearce Bernstone. I am a student at Manhasset High School in Long Island, New York. For the past few years I have been volunteering at several food pantries in Nassau County, mainly at Community Solidarity (Hempstead) and the Shelter Rock Church Food Pantry (Great Neck). At these food pantries, so many people are helped and given their necessary food and groceries in order for them to live a healthy week. I will continue to go to these pantries as not only do they help hundreds of people in Nassau County, they also help me to grow as a person.
Why do this?
- Working with these pantries allows me to become a better person by helping hundreds of people who need food every time I volunteer.
- Millions of people across the world suffer from food insecurity, and thousands suffer in Nassau County.
